Inboxatron.Email
Spam handling • Authentication checks • Firewall-level attitude

Your inbox is not a garbage dump.

Inboxatron.Email does not treat spam like an adorable little inconvenience. If mail shows up without proper authentication, bad signatures, or starts acting like a bulk-message firehose, we do not gently tuck it into a folder and wish you luck. We stop it at the door.

mailguard@inboxatron:~$ check-spf suspicious.example

SPF failed. Door remains closed.

mailguard@inboxatron:~$ verify-dkim bulkblast.invalid

Bad DKIM. Nice try, clown cannon.

mailguard@inboxatron:~$ spamassassin --watch

Mass message pattern detected.

mailguard@inboxatron:~$ firewall --block-source

Connection denied. Inbox remains civilized.

No encryption? No invitation.

We take TLS seriously. Incoming mail servers, including mailing lists, must negotiate an encrypted connection that meets our requirements. If a sender cannot do that, we may reject its mail instead of accepting it in plaintext. Your fly-by-night mailing list does not get a special pass because its administrator skipped the security chapter.

Encryption in transit is the minimum, not magic.

TLS helps protect messages as they travel between mail servers. It is not end-to-end encryption and cannot guarantee what happens to a message after another provider receives it. We would rather reject insecure delivery than quietly lower the bar.

Spammers pay $50. Then they may lose the account.

Accounts confirmed to be sending prohibited spam may be assessed a $50 spammer fee, where permitted by law and under our Terms of Service. We review the evidence and provide a way to dispute mistakes. Paying the fee does not purchase permission to spam.

This is a mail service, not a $50 ticket to annoy the entire internet.

The spam tsunami stops here.

The internet produces an astonishing amount of unsolicited email. Some is annoying, some is malicious, and most belongs in a digital landfill. Your inbox should not be a disaster recovery zone.

Detect the incoming flood

We use spam filtering, sender reputation, and authentication checks to identify suspicious mail and abusive sources before they overwhelm your mailbox.

Refuse the garbage

Messages that fail our security or abuse checks may be rejected outright. Legitimate senders are still evaluated against our published requirements. We do not promise every spam message will be caught.

Keep the floodgates closed

When senders unleash waves of junk mail, we can restrict or block abusive sources. We're an email provider, not a public dumping ground for imaginary inheritances and suspicious miracle cures.

Your email is welcome. The spam tsunami can go pound sand.

Stop suspicious mail at the gate.

Spam filtering works better when garbage does not get invited inside first. Inboxatron.Email checks the basics early, because pretending broken mail is fine is how inboxes become landfills.

SPF helps verify senders

If the sending server cannot prove it is allowed to send mail for that domain, it does not get to wander into your inbox wearing a fake mustache.

DKIM helps detect forgery

If the signature fails, the message fails. We are not here to babysit forged mail with confidence issues.

Spam filtering looks for patterns

When a sender starts acting like a mass-message firehose, SpamAssassin helps identify the blast before it turns your inbox into a dumpster behind a coupon printer.

How repeat offenders get blocked.

Some providers tag spam and make it your problem. That is adorable. When we see repeat abuse, bulk bombardment, or obvious trash behavior, we block the source at the firewall. Does not matter if you started this with a bad sign up or somone is trying to mail bomb you. It gets blocked.

1. A sender connects

Mail shows up and claims it is legitimate. Sure it does. So does every scammer with a logo and a dream.

Verify
2

2. Authentication is evaluated

SPF and DKIM need to make sense. If they do not, that mail is not getting a tour of the building.

Reject

3. Spam patterns are evaluated

SpamAssassin catches the mass-message nonsense and flags the sender as a problem, even if YOU are the problem, not a misunderstood artist.

Escalate

4. Repeat offenders can be blocked

Once a sender crosses the line, we block connections at the firewall. No more retries. No more resource drain. No more nonsense.

Blocked

Fair warning: if you run a misconfigured mail server, want to blast bulk mail like it is 2003, or think authentication is optional, Inboxatron.Email may not be your friend. We are fine with that.

Less junk. More actual email.

Inboxatron.Email is $2/month or $20/year. Secure IMAP only. Bring your own client. Spam gets treated like spam, not like a valued guest with poor manners.
